Happy to announce that “A bit of a Complex Situation” is part of the D’EST curated section of the Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival:
“REZ* na D’EST (CUT to D’EST) at Martovski Festival – Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival will present the work of the Berlin-based platform D’EST and its long-term commitment to capturing female and collective artistic positions that reflect the post-socialist transformation through moving images. The initiative will be presented by Ulrike Gerhardt, D’EST’s artistic director, and Naomi Hennig, D’EST curator and project manager. The discussion of the works will be moderated by Jelena Vesić, a Belgrade-based theoretician, who has also contributed as a curator to one of the chapters on this platform. In Belgrade, visitors will have the opportunity to see a selection of works of video art by Pauline Boudry & Renate Lorenz, Marwa Arsanios, Maha Maamoun, Elske Rosenfeld, Sanja Iveković and The Bureau of Melodramatic Research, curated by filmmaker, video artist and cultural worker Marta Popivoda.
*REZ is a festival of contemporary experimental film in Belgrade”
